4chems.com operates on a secure, EU-based cloud infrastructure designed for regulatory and scientific data workloads. Our Solution is provided through ISO 27001–certified European data centers with redundant availability zones to ensure high availbility and data resilience. To avoid compliance risks we do not use Hyperscalers like AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud.
What version of CHESAR are you running and how often is it updated?
At 4chems.com, we run the latest officially released version of CHESAR, fully synchronized with the ECHA publication cycle. Our CHESAR environment is updated within a few days after each ECHA release, ensuring full compatibility with the current IUCLID data format and the most recent REACH Chemical Safety Assessment (CSA) requirements.
Who owns the data hosted in your solution?
At 4chems.com, our customers always retain full ownership of their data. We act solely as a data processor under GDPR, while the customer remains the data controller. All information including IUCLID datasets, CHESAR assessments and QSAR models, belongs entirely to the customer. 4chems.com does not access, share, or use customer data for any purpose other than providing the contracted service. Upon request or contract termination, customers can export or permanently delete all their data. Backups and replicas are securely maintained only for availability and integrity, in compliance with GDPR and data retention policies.
What version of IUCLID are you running and how often is it updated?
At 4chems.com, we always maintain the latest official release of IUCLID, aligned with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) schedule. Our IUCLID environment is currently running the latest production version published by ECHA (updated immediately after each official release). We typically update within a few days of every ECHA release, ensuring full compatibility with REACH, CLP, and OECD formats.
Who handles system administration?
4chems.com manages all platform-level administration, ensuring the environment remains secure, up-to-date, and compliant. Customers do not have access to the underlying infrastructure.
Can I migrate my existing self-hosted IUCLID to 4chems.com?
Yes — we provide full migration support for self-hosted IUCLID installations. Our team handles the complete migration process including data export from your on-premise instance, validation, and import into your managed cloud environment. We ensure zero data loss and minimal downtime. What database does 4chems run on?
PostgreSQL, on our own EU infrastructure. If you’re coming from an Oracle-based setup, we migrate you to PostgreSQL with no Oracle licence needed on the target — and full ECHA support retained.
How does the AI pre-validation work?
The assistant continuously checks your dossier for issues that IUCLID’s built-in validation won’t show you — the kind regulators usually find after submission. It flags them before you submit; you stay in control and decide what to fix.
What is 4chems QSAR Navigator, and do I need it if I already have QSAR Toolbox hosting?
QSAR Navigator is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) gateway that lets an AI assistant operate your hosted QSAR Toolbox in plain regulatory language — defining a target substance, building a read-across category, filling the data gap, and drafting the QMRF, QPRF and CCR reports. It is an optional add-on to QSAR Toolbox cloud hosting, not a separate tool: the Toolbox does the science, QSAR Navigator lets an agent drive it. You keep working in the Toolbox as usual — the Navigator is there for when you want an assistant to run the workflow for you.
Is my substance or dossier data sent to an external AI provider when I use QSAR Navigator?
QSAR Navigator itself runs on our ISO 27001-certified EU infrastructure and returns results to the AI assistant you connect. Which model or provider sees those results depends on the AI client you choose, so you control that boundary. The gateway sends only what is needed for the step being performed — it never bulk-exports your data — and every operation that touches your environment requires a token tied to your own tenant. 4chems acts solely as a data processor under GDPR and never uses your data to train models or for any purpose beyond providing the service.
Does QSAR Navigator make regulatory decisions for me — is the output submission-ready and defensible?
No — the assessor stays in control. QSAR Navigator automates the mechanics (profiling analogues, gathering data, fitting the trend model, drafting reports) and produces the OECD deliverables — QMRF, QPRF and CCR — together with the RAAF category-consistency and Klimisch-style reliability evidence regulators expect. You review and approve every prediction before it becomes part of a dossier. The assistant accelerates the work; the toxicologist remains accountable for the conclusions.
Which AI assistants does QSAR Navigator work with, and how do I connect?
Any Model Context Protocol (MCP) client — for example Claude Desktop or Claude Code — by adding the QSAR Navigator endpoint and your access token. Listing the available operations is anonymous, but every operation that touches your environment requires a per-tenant Bearer token issued by 4chems.
Is QSAR Navigator available now, and how is it priced?

How is QSAR Navigator different from other QSAR Toolbox AI assistants?
Most AI assistants for the QSAR Toolbox are things you run yourself — you install and operate the Toolbox on your own Windows machine and connect a local script to it. QSAR Navigator is a fully managed, EU-hosted service: we run and keep the Toolbox current, access is authenticated per user, and you drive it from your own MCP-capable AI client (Claude, Copilot and others). It is designed to cover the full read-across and reporting workflow through to QMRF, QPRF and CCR — not just data lookups — and it runs under a GDPR data-processing agreement in ISO 27001-certified European data centres.
