The time has come to share what we’ve been working toward: AI Connector.

IUCLID 6 holds some of the most regulated chemical data in Europe. Substance composition. Toxicology endpoints. REACH registration files. Data that GDPR, REACH, and ECHA audit requirements mean cannot leave the EU.

This creates a real problem for compliance teams that want to use AI.

The standard AI workflow — send data to a cloud model, get an answer back — breaks immediately when the data is subject to regulatory confidentiality requirements. You cannot put a REACH dossier into a third-party AI service without breaking the confidentiality rules it is subject to, then ask whether the ecotoxicology section is complete. The question is not about model capability. It is about where the data goes.

What We Are Releasing

We are releasing the 4chems AI Connector — direct, secure access to your IUCLID 6 data for any AI model, over the open MCP standard. The model connects to your data. Your data does not move.

The Principle Behind It

The principle is the same one that makes EU-hosted IUCLID sensible in the first place: regulated data should be managed under the regulatory framework that applies to it. We have extended that to AI access.

GDPR applies. REACH confidentiality requirements apply. ECHA audit readiness applies. None of these constraints disappear because a model is involved — they just become harder to satisfy with standard AI tooling. The AI Connector is built around those constraints from the ground up.
